The sun is out to play and so follows our jeans converting to shorts, long sleeves being replaced with tanks and our hair enjoying the sun-kissed rays. Summer is all about the glow and if you are oh so blessed like me (Casper white) you will never know what that feels like, thankfully to our aid comes the fake tan revolution to paint our skin the colour of summer without even having to leave the house.
My current favorite tan is Bondi Sands self tanning mousse in dark. I’m in love with the green based formula as it complements and hides my naturally white skin without bringing any orange shades to the party. It provides the perfect deep brown tone compared to other tan brands I have tried which more orange based.
Now I know many people that say “ex-foliating before tanning is the number one rule”, but you see I’m all about breaking the rules. I personally have abolished this and included a full body moisturiser before instead and I think you should make the switch too. Before you tan lather your body in moisturizer or any body oil (Garnier beauty oil my personal favourite) of your choosing, once complete apply one layer of tan using any application glove. Your tan will blend to perfection on application, glide on and stay on. What more could a girl ask for?
To get the most wear from your tan make sure to moisturise each night after showering. If you do this, one self tan application will generally last around 3 days before the beloved patchy or you could go with scaly look starts to creep on in. Once it starts it is only down hill from there, so its time for exfoliation to be welcomed to the tan routine party to scrub away your fake summers day glow to show your true winters day white self.
Tanning Tip- We have all been here with the tragic orange palm even if some are more free to admit than others. The fastest and effective way I have found to remove this is Gumption! Yes Gumption. Use around a five cent piece size with water to wash away the unwanted and you will be wishing you discovered this remedy 10 orange palms ago.
Tan is love. Tan Is life.
